LEE COUNTY EMS
Clinical Operations
At Lee County EMS, our clinical operations are built around one core mission: delivering high-quality, evidence-based emergency medical care to every member of our community. Our crews operate under modern Texas EMS clinical guidelines and follow strict quality assurance processes to ensure safe, consistent, and effective treatment on every call. From advanced cardiac and trauma care to pediatric, medical, and critical-care interventions, each protocol is reviewed and continuously improved to meet the needs of our rural region. With long transport times and limited nearby hospital resources, our team is trained to begin definitive care in the field—bringing the capabilities of a mobile emergency department directly to our patients. Through data-driven oversight, ongoing training, and strong medical direction, we ensure that Lee County residents receive the highest standard of prehospital care available.

Lee County EMS maintains a high level of clinical readiness by operating a mixed fleet of Type I and Type III Ford ambulances, including three Mobile Intensive Care Units (MICUs) staffed 24/7 from our main station in Giddings. This ensures rapid response and advanced prehospital care throughout the county. To strengthen coverage in rural regions, our Squad Truck—stationed in Lexington—serves the northern area beginning at the Hwy 21/77 corridor. Staffed with an EMT or Paramedic, the Squad provides immediate first response, initiating rapid assessment and life-saving interventions before the ambulance arrives, significantly reducing time to care. All frontline units are equipped with industry-leading medical technology, including LIFEPAK 15 cardiac monitors, O-Two ventilators, McGrath Video Laryngoscopes, LUCAS 3 mechanical CPR devices, Stryker Power Pro stretchers, and the Stryker Auto-Load system. These resources ensure our teams deliver safe, efficient, and clinically advanced care on every emergency response.
